I know who is on my World Race team! Hooray! We call ourselves PLJ- Peace, Love, Jesus, and I am beyond belief stoked at how God worked things out to put us all together!
Jenny Ellis,Taylor McKellar, Amy Learn, Christina, Stefan, Samantha Allen
Team Leader
Stefan- He is a 27 year old from Switzerland and has been a missionary in Nigeria for the past several months with his wife, Christina. God has given him the gift of encouragement, and he knows just what to say to keep our team unified and strong. He also gives us awesome Swiss chocolate to devour and has so much passion in all he says and does!
Christina- She is 26 years old and loves to run! She is a total sweetheart, has a very gentle and humble spirit, and I have been told she has a strong personality very similar to my own. 😉 She is very sympathetic and knows just what to say when you are sad or struggling. Oh, and she used to sport dreds and ride skateboards back in the day.
Team Finance Person
Amy Joanne Learn- She is 30 years old and has been teaching high school and coaching track in Washington, D.C. these past few years. She likes to run as well (boy, am I thrilled God placed the two other girls who love to run on my team!!!) and is gifted in the areas of drawing and animation. She is one of the two girls I talked to on the phone before camp and has a quiet and loving spirit. She is also a HUGE help when it comes to setting up tents. Amy is a great listener and like a new big sister to me!
Taylor Christian McKellar- He is 20 years old and the youngest member of our team! He has an incredible testimony, and even though he is a new believer, has an enormous amount of wisdom and compassion for those around him. If there was ever a person I truly see the Holy Spirit at work in, it is him! He sold all his video games and turned his whole life around to go and follow Christ! Oh, and he wants me to push him to get back into running shape on the trip! WOOHOO! 🙂
Samantha Gayle Allen- She is a 22 year old and just graduated from the best college ever- OLIVET!!! I love talking to her about our good old school and pray her infected toe gets better. She LOVES ice breakers, laughing, teasing me, attempting to navigate (“oh, my parents live down this road”), and canoeing with me as a buddy when it is lightning (ah-hahaha). NEVER call her Sam!!!
