Jesus said to her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.
John 4:13-14
This past week I did something I never thought in a million years I’d do. I shared a message of salvation. Nicaragua has been full of door to door ministries and having to translate spiritual conversations in Spanish but, preaching, that’s completely different. If you aren’t aware- I love evangelism. While most people run away from evangelizing, I run to it. I not only become filled when I evangelize and share the gospel but, it’s my spiritual gift. It’s what I love to do.
From the beginning, I knew the Lord wanted me to step outside my comfort zone. He wanted me to do something I’ve always wanted to do yet felt intimidated of it. He wanted me to preach a message of salvation. How exactly did I come up with this message? Well, in Nicaragua a trend I’ve seen repeatedly is people feeling unprepared to come to Jesus. The Lord meets us exactly where were at regardless of our mess, addictions, problems, or sinful lifestyles. It breaks my heart every time our squad and I go out into the streets of Nicaragua and present the gospel only to hear “maybe in the future, not today.” Salvation is HERE, RIGHT NOW, and there isn’t a process you have to go through before you can come to Jesus. He extends His grace on all of us and literally is waiting for us to take that step of faith in accepting Him. As I prayed and searched the bible, I found the story of the Samaritan Woman. She came to a well in the middle of the day, feeling shamed for the lifestyle she was living in- did Jesus condemn or rebuke her? Absolutely, not. He asked to drink of her water- He wanted to know her. He wanted HER. Being well aware of her sins, He desired for her to be saved. He didn’t cast her away until she was living a pretty lifestyle with no mess. Jesus meets us in our mess. He wants every single part of us- the good and the bad. Don’t wait for another day when “you’re ready.” You’ll never be ready and will end up living the life God never intended you to live. He offers that invitation to each one of you. Have you accepted it? If you haven’t, I really encourage you to seek Him. In your doubts and hurts. His salvation is available now- you aren’t promised tomorrow. Don’t wait another moment.
With that being said, I preached. In my simple Spanish and nerves, I stepped outside my comfort zone and shared a message of salvation. I later was used as a vessel to witness someone recommitting their life to Christ. The Lord was faithful, He always is. Accept His invitation, and don’t wait another moment.
You are Loved.
