Hello to all my friends and supporters! I would like to begin this blog by thanking each one of you for the amazing support I have received throughout these past 8 months of the race. I am currently on month 9 of the race in Rwanda. I have the wonderful privilege in living life in the city of Nyagatare. It is a village where I get to live a simplistic yet satisfying lifestyle. Having a constant friend to ask how I’m doing to the random chants as I walk in the middle of the day cannot get any more incredible!
In this blog, I would like to share with you all something that has been on my heart regarding fundraising. As most of you know I have been fundraising for this trip since April 2016 and never ever thought it was possible to have made it this far. Fundraising $16,561 has not been easy by any means but has required tremendous time, effort, prayer, and support from people like you. As a racer, I can honestly say that every dollar that has been donated goes into a cause that is worthier than anything you could’ve imagined. It goes far beyond my spiritual growth or adventure days, but goes on to loving and being Christ to the person sitting next to me on a bus. It goes into a bank deposit of heavenly treasures. My calling for this year of my life has been stirring since the day I decided to follow Christ. It has been to love others and share the gospel with everyone around me- from my neighbors in Chicago to the streets in Thailand. It is a call to go out into the nations. To donate any amount towards this trip is to glorify God in your obedience by allowing me to continue to serve where I am being called. To receive this calling is a blessing but, to be the one in sending is even greater. How would the called be sent without your help? Your $5 donation can change someone’s life. Literally. This isn’t a blog post on all the reasons why you should donate but, on all the reasons you get to. You can make a difference. It only takes one step of faith and obedience.
For those that have so generously donated repeatedly, I would like to sincerely and with all my heart say thank you. No words can ever compare to the gratitude I have for my supporters. Each one of you have impacted my life in a big way. I am currently $1,513 away from being fully funded. If you would like to donate any amount towards this trip know that I’ll probably have a mini party of celebration but also, your donation will be going to a cause greater than all of us! His Kingdom is to be known right here and throughout all nations!
