Going on the race a third time?  I was really surprised when my spirit jumped inside me.  I had been asked to consider several other options of leadership for the coming summer but had gotten no green lights.  Then, here I was, standing in the training center ready to say yes immediately.  WHOA!  Aren’t I supposed to pray about this?  So, I took a couple of days to pray through it, to make sure that my feelings were not involved in the decision & came to the same conclusion my spirit had a few days earlier.  I talked with my community in DC about what it would mean for me to be out of the country for 4 months & they released me to follow where God was leading.

I am thrilled to be going out again; I love seeing God work through a group of racers so intimately.  I get to know a lot of racers at training camps but getting to follow them for the year is a joy.  I get to see the ups and downs.  I get to hold them when they cry, I get to answer questions from my own experience or when I don’t know I get to cry out to our Father on their behalf.  I get to pray for them as individuals & as a body.  I get to encourage Christ like behavior & watch as their countenance changes in an instant touch from the Father.  I get to walk with some as they face big issues that have been covered for a long time.  I am blessed to be a mentor & a friend to these folks, I love seeing them inspired & come to life in response to their encounters with a real, living, and active Father God.  There are hard times too, but the good so outweigh the bad.  I’ve been told that is how giving birth is; really hard, painful work in the process, but in the end you get to see this new life that you helped bring into the world.  What an honor.
Please pray with me for the racers of June 2010:
-Physical/Emotional/Spiritual well being
-Support needs will be met
-That Father will bring a peace passing understanding during this time of prep
-Healthy relationship will be fostered among the racers now
-Faith would grow as they are stretched even now
I ask for your prayers also:
-For wisdom in how to lead
-Financial needs met (I have to raise about $650.00 a month)
-Peace & favor in this time of preparation
-Covering & protection over family & community as I step out for a season
-Cohesive relationship between the squad leaders, a mutual respect & understanding for each others gifts
If you are financially able & feel led to give click on the Support Me! tab in the left hand column.  We need finances but we need prayer just as much so please give any way you can.  I would love to take this journey with each of you.
