Wow! I can’t believe that it’s been almost a week since I left the US to fly halfway across the world! Things have been anything but boring and God has already been revealing Himself…already beginning to work stuff out of me…and already showing His heart for His people.
Last Monday, we spent the first 14 hours of the trip on a flight from LA to Hong Kong (longest flight EVER) and another 2 hour flight to Manila. In the process, we completely skipped Tuesday and arrived on Wednesday. Then the next couple hours were spent on a bus…

Now, before I go any further, let me explain the traffic here. If you know me, you probably think I drive slightly…well, really crazy. Compared to the drivers here, I drive like a 200 year old woman who is afraid of switching lanes, going over 20 mph and completely cautious about anything that comes within 30 yards of my car! It’s not unusual here to have your bus driver honk at least 3 times per minute, drive between lanes and come within 3 to 4 inches from passing cars. It’s crazy!!
So, now that I’ve got that off of my chest, once we finally got to our destination, we dropped off our stuff and headed to a local waterfall. It was absolutely gorgeous! We were able to swim beneath the falls and just enjoy one of God’s beautiful creations. We’ve spent the last couple days walking the nearby streets, praying with people and getting to know the culture here.
We had an intense opportunity to raise a woman from the dead…but I’ll have more to say about that next time…
Thank you for all of your prayers and support and encouragement! Y’all are still the body that makes these hands and feet work!
