I finally decided on my next tattoo this past week. A lot of
the explanation behind it can be explained through my last blog, Scaling the Wall. I
encourage you to read through that before you continue with this blog.

One of the things on my to-do list for the World Race was to
get a tattoo. As I’ve gone with 2 of my teammates to get tattoos, I’ve
contemplated what mine would say. As God has begun to reveal His truths about
my voice to me, the phrase “a voice calling out” has been constantly going
through my mind. I talked about this a little in another one of my blogs, A Voice Calling Out.
God gave me a song before I left the US with this title and the specific lyrics
say “what once was a whisper is now a voice calling out.”

With everything that God has been speaking, I decided that
this was what I wanted as my next tattoo. I talked to our translator, Mon, on
Thanksgiving about how it would be translated in Thai. After some discussion
and several minutes of explaining the idea behind the phrase, Mon wrote 2
different translations. The first was simply “a voice saying something” …Not
very impactful or meaningful if you ask me. I wasn’t happy with it, so we moved
onto the next translation.

2 words for 2 wrists…

The first means “a shout”…more than just a voice, but
something that comes out with passion, force and confidence.

The second means “to be brought out”…something that a force
greater than yourself brings out of another thing. This is a constant
motion…not a one-time thing, but something that is always occurring and never
stops.

So, I finally got my tattoo yesterday on my wrists. As
individual wrists/tattoos, the meaning of each word stands on its own. On my
right wrist, it’s specific to my voice and what God has created it to be. On my
left wrist, it refers to God starting a process in me that will never end…He is
constantly bringing more out of me, whether it be lies that I believe or gifts
that He’s given me to glorify Him in this world.

As 1 tattoo put together, it means “a passionate, confident
shout that God is constantly bringing out of me” in order to glorify His name
and change the world around me with the testimony I carry.

I’m so excited about this one! Watch the video if you get a
chance and watch the tattoo in process!
