Tonight, I sit here on the most comfortable, inviting couch in my parents’ basement. The A/C can be heard right behind me and the flat screen HD tv is playing the latest tv shows that I’ve missed. My laptop is on my lap as I type this and my Ipod is synching all of my music…
It feels so surreal that tomorrow at this time, the only source of comfort I will have will be strapped to my back…a backpack full of everything I’ll need (clothes, tent, diabetes stuff, etc.) for the next 11 months. The only technology I’ll have will be my handy dandy Ipod, but something can be found in my chest even more important…a heart that breaks for the things that break Gods. I’m ready…I’m READY!!

I’m ready to live simply and minimalistic; allowing God to truly become my everything and continuing to listen to His every leading. I’m ready to live completely abandonded to myself and the things I may desire. I’m ready to lose it all to gain everything. I’m ready.
So, as a final shout-out to everyone before I leave the US, there are a couple things I would like for you each to know…
1. THANK YOU!! To everyone who gave of their time, finances, emotions, shoulders, muscles, etc…thank you! Whether you’ve given little or lots…it’s because of you that I’m here now. You will never know the extent of my thankfulness to each of you and I can’t wait to share with you what God is going to do through this time on the mission field. This leads to…

5. I love you all! I’m super excited about this trip, but I’m going to miss all of my incredible friends and family! I can’t even express how grateful I am to have you in my life and I cannot WAIT to share these stories of God’s love, power and grace over the next year and beyond that!
Stay tuned…we’re about to leave the starting lines…next time you’ll hear from me…I’ll be in Philippines!!!
