I am an adopted daughter of Christ first and foremost! My name is Jennifer Rose Gull, Jenny for short. Born and raised in Texas, I graduated December ’16 from Texas A&M University with my B.S. in Psychology. Whoop! I am 22 years old, going on 23 in April.  I grew up going to church. Friends and my big family are an important part of my life. Growing up I spent most my time with my mom and my sister as well as my dad, stepmom and step-siblings when I went to my dad’s house on weekends. I spent a lot of time in Minnesota with my cousins and have supportive family scattered throughout the U.S. As my immediate family has grown-up, I always enjoy spending time with my brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, and nieces and nephews. It has been a blessing that finding someone to turn to wasn’t a struggle growing up.   Somehow, I still grew up shy and soft-spoken, even with all those people around. I had few but deep friendships all my life and reliable family friends. LOVE and HOPE were concepts I easily grasped from a young age and two of my largest passions now. I work in my church nursery and love being a light for Jesus and bit of a goof-ball to the kids that come and go through the church doors. I love road trips and camping. Vacations were some of my favorite memories growing up.

So, you probably want a little context about me and this journey to 11 COUNTRIES IN 11 MONTHS. Trust me, every question will unfold here on my blog, and if not, ask me on my email: [email protected]  If you are interested in upcoming blogs or just want to put a smile on my face, subscribe! In the meantime, this will have to do:

In my last semester of college as I prepared to enter a graduate program to get my Masters in Occupational Therapy(OT), God put on my heart missions and drawing closer to Him. So, I decided to take a year off of school and devote more of my time to my relationship with God instead of getting caught up in deciphering what the world said I should do next. While this decision has given me peace, it has been in no way easy, but it allowed me to experience a new reliance on God.

God is so good and within A MONTH of making the decision to wait on Graduate School and look into missions, my friend calls me raving about this mission trip her pastor just told her about called The World Race. I thought it over and it just felt right. I am an outdoor enthusiast, so taking whatever I can fit into a 65 L backpack and leaving for almost a year, telling people about the love and hope that Jesus Christ brings sounded satisfying. That’s most of my interests wrapped into one!

And that leads to this point right now with TWO-HUNDRED AND NINTY days left before I leave on a journey to 11 countries in 11 months. #11n11

I will enjoy hearing from y’all throughout this season of my life so don’t hesitate to reach out. I cannot wait to spread just how much Jesus loves and the hope that His truth brings to the people in less developed places than America. These next two years will be filled with growth and a whole new range of experiences and I am excited for what God has in store for me and the people I will meet along the way.

Also, if you would like to talk to me more about this before I leave, contact me through this blog or my email mentioned above!
