Written back in Vietnam:

Vietnam is our last Asian country on our route.

A lot changed this month including the team I have been serving with is no longer the Nugs. There is six of us now and you can call us SPK (Short for Sour Patch Kids- because we remain sweet in sour situations). Ryan is our fearless team leader, there is nothing his joy and hardworking can’t propel him through. Ryan is married to Megan who has creativity pouring out of her but that is obvious to everyone. Sometimes so obvious you can overlook what more she has to offer. Her true talent is her heart to love people confidently and outwardly, in a way that makes people easily warm up to her sweet and joyful heart. I took on treasury for this new team . Going on month 5 whoop! Then there is Aj who has an amazing heart focused on true righteousness, and who has a passion for encouraging and pouring into people with her whole heart, whether they are on her team or strangers we come along in our journey. Coleman is a gentleman, someone with depth. He has more discipline than most people older than him and continues to push himself and others in different ways of thinking. Elizabeth is hilarious, her imagination is one of her greatest characteristics and brings laughter to literally everyone she meets including our team but she has such a tender heart for the hurt she sees in the world. And together we have an independent yet caring, fun-loving team who steps up to any ministry task.

In Vietnam we don’t have a diverse ministry. We basically formed friendships with people in English clubs and tried to bring up Jesus and love them genuinely and went to coffee shops and adventured around the city together. I can’t be anymore specific because Vietnam is a closed country and I don’t want to endanger our hosts.

So here are some fun photos with some fun people I met in Vietnam.

A train ride somewhere around 18 hours to Da Nang on wooden bench seats was our first adventure in Nam!

Coffee Shops

Adventures: Pagodas, Marble Mountain, Hai Van Pass, My Khe Beach, a random alley that led us to open train tracks, Markets, Vietnamese Food, Friends, and a yellow tree that made me happy every time I saw it.

Then at the end of this month we got together with our squad and sent off the squad leaders that were helping us through our first 5 months to learn the ropes of flexibility and diving into cultures you aren’t familiar with. Here is my amazing squad of people:)
