Eleazar Castellanos has a faith second to none. The Lord miraculously put a vision in his heart that has moved him to the mountains in Palenque, Chiapas (Mexico).

After graduating from an Assemblies of God school with a ministry degree, Eleazar has had a stream of pastoral opportunities. His first opportunity was pastoring a church in California for more than 13 years. Following this, he obeyed the Lord’s voice and moved to Tijuana to plant and pastor a church. While waiting to approach the pulpit one day, he heard from God. “You will have a television ministry,” He said. He told the congregation, and they responded in disbelief. Even so, Eleazar teamed with others and prayed diligently for nine months. All of a sudden, a stranger approached him and offered him $100,000 worth of TV equipment and said let’s do this. After a few years of this, Eleazar moved to Louisiana and planted a church.

During the different seasons of moving, Eleazar went on a mission trip to Palenque. He was immediately broken for the people and knew deep within his heart that he would return. After several years of doing mission trips to Palenque, it was time to move. He went home to his wife, Martha, and told her about the vision. Reluctant at first, Martha prayed and finally submitted to the vision and her husband.

.

Trusting God and full of faith, they arrived in Palenque with a God-sized vision and nothing in their pockets. Miracle after miracle produced an amazing piece of property and some faithful partners in ministry. Having purchased two acres of land that would normally cost well over $150,000 for a mere $16,000, Eleazar’s dream of a non-denominational Bible college was coming true. His desire is to educate the local pastors in the Bible, for most of them preach with little knowledge and training at all.

It is now four years later, and Eleazar and Martha have settled into Palenque quite nicely. They have been able to build and continually add to a facility called “Shekinah,” meaning “Glory of God.” Since the college has been built, more than 25 local pastors and dozens of leaders and youngsters with pastor callings on their lives have successfully graduated.

I asked Eleazar how we could pray for him, and he humbly responded with “for the ministry.” My prayer is that you would not only pray for his ministry, but also for an increase in donations because he totally lives on faith as he almost single-handedly builds the college. He has also generously allowed the World Race team to stay here for a love offering.
