It seems that God has had a reason to put so many wonderful teachers in my life. So I turn to all of you for some advice. Any advice is greatly appreciated. And I must add that it is just great hearing from you. You see, this month’s ministry in Cambodia is teaching. We are teaching English classes as well as computer classes. And on Wednesdays, the classes are combined and we teach Christian values. I, being completely uncomfortable in front of others, have found this somewhat challenging. God has definitely been working beyond my own limitations. And I have really enjoyed serving. It is definitely interesting putting together lesson plans and hearing yourself being called, “teacher”.
“Teacher”, it has such a strange ring to it. To hear others refer to me as teacher, I can’t help but be caught off guard a bit and look around to make sure they are talking to me. It really makes me examine what I share, what I speak, and how I act. The slight inflection in their voice changes the word from a simple title, to a thirst for knowledge for something that will better them in some way. They say it with such respect as if they can sense there is something important we have to share. And there is.

Recently, I was asked how my life was before I knew Jesus, and how it is different now that I have a relationship with HIM. It was difficult to speak, difficult to express, but I know God taught as I stumbled through the words. HE has taught and continues to teach and guide me. And may HE get all the glory for that. I pray that it is HIM they see in all words that are spoken and in all of my actions. I pray that their hearts are open to the only ONE who deserves the name, TEACHER, FRIEND, KING…
