I just realized that I’ve never properly introduced my team (Shofar 1:5) 🙂 Let me try and break this down real fast. My squad, “O Squad” has 49 people on it. At training camp the World Race staff broke our squad down into teams of 6 or 7. There are 6 on my team. We found out our teams at the end of training camp, had a couple of days together, and then met up at the airport and flew to Ukraine to start month one! So we didn’t have much time around each other before the start of the race. I was a little nervous, so in the two weeks between training camp and launch, I prayed A LOT for us as a team. I’ve seen the Lord’s faithfulness in how we all ended up together. They’ve challenged and encouraged my these past few months, and I’m grateful to know them. Each of them brings something unique and irreplaceable to our team and to the world. During debrief our teams are possibly going to be switched around, so it’s definately time to introduce my friends.

We chose our name over coffee at training camp. The Shofar was in instrument used in in worship to announce the coming of the Lord, and the year of Jubilee. We wanted our team to announce the coming of the Lord as we moved around the nations this year. The 1:5 is for  Habakuk 1:5 which says; “Look among the Nations! Observe! Be astonished! Wonder! Because I am doing something in your days–you would not believe even if you were told.” We’ve gotten a glimpse of it, of what the Lord is doing among the nations, and it’s worth everything. The Lord has been faithful.

Here they are, so beautiful! From the top, left to right their names are Jeremiah, Kim, Kevin, Courtney, and Elle.
