I found myself asking this question a lot this past month. Really Lord! Are You kidding me? I get to experience You like this! Today is a travel day, so while we’ve been getting around the country in every imagineable way (foot, cab, train, van, plane) we’ve been talking about what the heck the Lord did this month. Here’s what I’m grateful for;
Pastor Zsombor: he was our contact. I have never seen someone so passionate about evangelism. He is up early praying, pacing whatever room he is in, reading the word, asking for revelation. He is up late reading the word again.He is fervent about the power of prayer, about fighting for the Lord. When he preaches he gives it everything he’s got. It was a priviledge to work alongside someone so undivided in their passion for the Kingdom.
The Hungarian church: they are a beautiful picture of the body to me. They showed me what it looks like to be desperate, to be abandoned, and to be passionate about the Kingdom, to be alive. I saw in the flesh what it looks like for your spirit to groan for the things of the Lord, for your spirit to cry out for the lost and rejoice for the found. Their hospitality and generosity made my own attempts seem pale in comparision. Their prayers for people came from somewhere deep down in their souls, they weren’t words for show or formality but for the glory of the Lord.
Freedom: thank.you.Jesus! I got to a place this month where I told Jesus I had to have more of Him or I couldn’t go on any further. A few minutes later I was walking down the hill and ran into two girls from my team. One of these brave souls had written down some lies the enemy had been telling her. Lies only have power in the darkness, so she let us read them. As we read them it opened my eyes to some of the lies I had been living in, wearing around like a old, oversized jacket. We ripped up the lies, threw them around a wheat field, yelled profanity at the enemy for his ridiculous schemes, and then praised Jesus.
