For our ministry in Mozambique my team and another team, Pharos, have been working with Kedesh Ministries, which is a boys’ home. They have some super sweet grounds with lots of recreation, land, and all sorts of games. It’s really a cool ministry to the boys in the area whose parents can’t afford to take care of them. And several of the neighbor boys come hang out there during the day too. Since John started Kedesh 19 years ago he has taken care of alot of boys. If you ask us, we think we scored the best ministry in our squad; we get to hang out, play games, jump in the swamp, and do some manual labor. It’s a pretty nice life if I do say so myself. Outside of ministry our squad has been working on being vulnerable with each other. Turns out its quite difficult opening up to 49 people about things you don’t normally talk about with someone you’ve known less than 2 weeks. God has done some real healing and restorative work as a result, more than I ever imagined. I was very resistant to sharing with the group because I didn’t see the point; how would it benefit me? But after I shared, a couple people came up to me and wanted to talk about my experiences. That’s the blessing in opening up to new people, you discover new friends and have the opportunity to push your friendships to a new level.
