My name is Jenny Manning and I was born and raised in Warsaw, Indiana. I graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University with a degree in Exercise Science. I am 25 years old and I have an older sister, older brother, and a twin sister. That's the basics.
Now on to more exciting things….I've always wanted to go out west, I always thought I would move out there after I graduated and get a job. It didn't quite work out that way, although I'm not really sure why. I've worked in Homecare for the past four years as a Certified Nursing Assistant and for the past year leading group exercise for the elderly. I've also always wanted to go to Africa and Asia, specifically countries that have experienced genocide and war, like Rwanda, Sudan, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Korea. I like to read and I tend to read a lot of books about war and human suffering. I know it sounds like depressing stuff, but I really like the idea of growing through adversity and developing strength in character.
My brother is the real reason I applied for the World Race. He is big on missions and knew of my desire to serve overseas. He encouraged me to go for it and I'm glad I did. It's one of those things I know I'll never regret doing. I've been to Ireland, the Dominican Republic, and Mexico on missions trips. God is good and I feel very blessed to have had the opportunity to go on each of those trips. God has been leading me to this position for a while, but for the past four months I have felt clearly that God had something awesome in store for me. And now I know what it is.
