Here’s what I’ll be doing in Thailand and how you can partner with me. THANK YOU so much everyone!! 🙂
June 2011
Dear
friends and family,
I
just finished The World Race! We traveled to 12 countries in 11 months
(Romania, Ukraine, Ireland, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos,
Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatemala), partnering with local ministries and
organizations to help in whatever way possible. Ultimately we were attempting
to bring freedom, healing, hope, deliverance, redemption, and Christ’s infinite
LOVE to the nations.
This trip truly impacted me. I learned
and experienced so much… I could talk about it all for weeks. In summary, I
have seen and experienced more of the
Lord’s intimate love, begun walking more confidently in my identity as a
daughter of God, grown in hearing the Lord’s voice and boldly proclaiming His
word, realized my giftings and talents and the ways God wants to use them, been
given more of the Lord’s heart to see and love others with HIS love, and become
passionate about redemption, evangelism, discipleship, and bringing God’s
kingdom to earth.
The Lord ignited my heart for a few of the places we went and He has
specifically called me back to one of them: Thailand. Therefore, I’ll be
participating in a new ministry with AIM (Adventures in Missions) called the THAILAND INITIATIVE.
The Thailand Initiative is a 2-year commitment (but could last longer depending
on how God leads). Starting in October 2011, the first six months will consist
of planning, preparing, visioning, and fundraising with my team in Gainesville,
GA. In April of 2012 we’ll be moving to
Thailand for a year and a half to implement the vision God’s given us.
We’ll be partnering with another couple/ ministry (Ray and Candace Ward with OUTPOUR MOVEMENT – check out their
website: http://outpourmovement.com) and working primarily with Burmese
refugees in Northern Thailand (near Chiang Mai). We’ll be setting up safe
houses and education centers for at-risk youth on their newly purchased
“Promised Land”, while creating sustainable developments (such as
agriculture, eco-tourism, hostels, restaurants, etc.) in order to pour revenue
back into the ministries. We’ll also be involved in ministering to the Karen
hill tribe people, church planting, evangelism, mentorship/ discipleship,
worship, youth/ children’s ministry, working in refugee camps, ministering to
child soldiers, victims of trafficking, and those escaping the genocide, and
intercession on the border for both Thailand and Burma. I’m so excited!
My prayer going into the race was that God would focus my heart and evoke my
passions for one place or people group so I could return longer-term. He has done just that. God broke my
heart for the people and issues in Thailand and I knew I was supposed to return.
The Lord also gave me a dream of setting up a similar safe house/
“Promised Land” area as they call it while I was on the race, so when
I heard about this opportunity everything in my spirit said, “YES!”
I’m SO excited to invest in a country longer-term and see God move in radical
ways. This is exactly where I’m supposed to be.
All of that being said, I would love to ask for your support. First and
foremost, PRAYER is needed! This is
a huge endeavor and it will take divine favor from the Lord to accomplish it…
so I will take all the prayer I can get! You can also join me in praying for
the people of Thailand and Burma as well as the other members of my team.
Secondly, I’d like to ask you to consider financially partnering with me. I’m
required to raise $10,000 for the first six months and then an additional (not
yet determined) amount after that. [We will be determining our budget for the
following year and a half in Thailand as a team when we begin the Initiative in
October.]
As usual, one-time donations are welcomed and greatly appreciated! However, at
this point I’m really trying to build a firm foundation of monthly supporters
to partner with me for these next two years (and perhaps even beyond that as
well). It feels as though missions is what God is calling me to (at least for
now), so solidifying monthly support is going to be key in this time. Please
pray about becoming one of my monthly supporters and joining me in bringing
God’s kingdom to the nations!
There are two ways to donate and all donations are tax-deductible. 🙂
