Hey guys!
I thought I’d give you a little update on my health. 🙂 It
turns out all six members of my team had malaria, crazy! The five of us who
were tested earlier last week have been treated, healed, and are feeling much
better… praise God! My team leader just
got tested a few days ago and found out he has it as well, so he’s currently
undergoing treatment. Thanks so much for
all your prayers and please keep them coming… they are powerful and effective!
I was down and out, sleeping through most of the days and
nights, for about four days last week but am definitely feeling remarkably
better and was able to return to ministry on Tuesday. Praise the Lord! The
medication to get rid of malaria is really powerful and can make you feel even
worse while you’re taking it than you were before. I just experienced a lot of
fatigue, head and body aches, stomach pain, a loss of appetite, and some crazy
vivid dreams… but am definitely feeling completely
healed now and grateful to be out of my bed! (I also was given a total of
71 pills to take over a period of ten days, and the majority of those were
taken in the first three. No wonder I was feeling funky… that’s bound to do
something funky to my system!)
Again, THANK YOU SO
MUCH for all your prayers, encouragement, and love during this time. I have
felt incredibly lifted up and supported, so thank you so much. Our contacts here
have been simply phenomenal as well; Pastor and Mrs. Chacha literally feel like
my parents away from home and have taken such good care of us. I love them.
They’ve continually brought us food, made sure we took our medicine, visited
us, laid hands on and prayed for us, and encouraged us throughout the past few
days. I feel so loved and blessed by them and my team. 🙂
I went back to the doctor today to get some more blood tests
to make sure the malaria, amoeba, and urinary tract infections are all gone and…
drumroll please… I’m 100% in the clear! YAY! Jesus is a good HEALER and a good
FATHER. I’m grateful for more opportunities to rely on His immense strength in
my weakness. Praise the Lord for new life and healing! 🙂
“O Lord, you have searched me and you know me.
You know when I sit and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar. You
discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways.
Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O Lord. You hem me in –
behind and before; you have laid your
hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful
for me, too lofty for me to attain. Where
can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up
to the heavens, you are there; if I
make my bed in the depths, you are
there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of
the sea, even there your hand will
guide me, your right hand will hold me fast (Psalm
139:1-10).
“‘My
grace is sufficient for you, for my
power is made perfect in weakness’ (Jesus in 2 Corin. 12:9)
“He sent forth His word and healed them (Psalm 107:20).
p.s. Our village visits that were planned for last weekend
had to be rescheduled since we all got hit with malaria, so we’ll be heading
out in twos to different regions this weekend instead to do some hardcore
preaching, fellowshipping, evangelism, and anything else the Lord leads us to!
BP and I will be heading out together… it should be a good time. 🙂 Love you
guys!
