When we were told we were going to Montenegro I had no idea
it was going to be as amazing as this.
After 2 overnight trains with a “layover” in Serbia we arrived in Podgorica,
Montenegro. To make a long story short,
one of the girls on the other team knew of a pastor in Montenegro through her
home church, contacted him and he met us at the train station (an answer to one
of my prayers!) to bring us to his church.
After figuring out a few logistics we decided the other team would head
to the coast and work with a missionary there while we would stay at the church
until Saturday before heading to another city to work with a different
missionary family from LA.
This church is slightly different than Romania’s
church. This one has running water (no
shower but we’re not complaining!), air conditioning, ping pong, A KITCHEN and
a WII. Amazing! The only other thing that makes it completely
perfect for me is that it used to be a café so the downstairs has a wall of
coffee mugs and our pastor is constantly making us coffee. Callan and I are both loving the fact that we
can drink coffee out of an actual coffee mug.
There’s just a something about holding onto a mug that I’ve missed over
the past 2 months.
I’m just floored with God providing us with not only a
contact in a country I just found out about 4 days ago but numerous ministry
opportunities, lodging, transportation and just the opportunity to witness His
beautiful creation! Driving through the
mountains and seeing the coast yesterday made me realize once again just how
incredible God is. Praise Him!
Here are some things you can pray about:
1.
Our squad leaders are traveling to meet us here
on Thursday. Pray for their safety as
well as a great time of fellowship with them while they are here in Montenegro.
2.
Pray a special blessing over our pastor and his church. It still amazes me that after knowing us only
a few hours he hands over a key to the church and lets us have free reign over
the building…at no cost to us!
3.
Pray that we are able to form friendships with
the 2 people our age who attend the church.
There is only 3 of them who attend the church so I think it is really
cool for them to interact with fellow Christians who are their age.
Thank you everyone for all of your support…it is more
encouraging then you know!! I love you
all!
Big hugs.
