Party Time!!!

It is a very cool thing when in your job description, throwing parties is encouraged! This happens to be in our job description this month. We are teaching English to both Cambodian and Korean students through a learning center started by a Korean teacher, Yung Ju, and his family. Monday through Friday we spend time with them practicing English with emphasis on speaking, writing and comprehension. Although the class time is a great way for them to improve their language skills…having parties is a great way to share cultures and get to know the students on a more casual level which we hope will lead to sharing our faith with them. So within the first 4 days of being with them, we have already thrown 2 parties!!

One of the Korean students, Gun, had his birthday on the first Friday we were with them. We surprised him and the class with cake and a gift and played games    Then the very next night we had all the students over to the house to have dinner and play games.  It was such a fun time and was a great opportunity to make friends with them.  The highlight was when two students agreed to come to church with us the next morning!!  One is already a believer, but the other had never before been to a church or even read a bible.  Clearly the Lord is blessing us with relationships very quickly here which is fantastic considering our very short length of stay.

I have already seen that the harvest is plentiful here in Cambodia.  The Lord has many people here doing His work, but there are still so many unreached in this country.  Our prayer is that more followers of Christ will rise up here and help lead so many more to know the name of Jesus.
