The world we live in is filled with heartbreak, death, and hardships. We can’t turn on the news without seeing life ending for someone, or people facing hard, devastating moments. I can’t go to work without seeing families on the verge of falling apart, and children hurting from the cancer growing deep inside them. I am reminded frequently of the beautiful children we’ve lost in the midst of their fighting for their lives.
Heartbreak permeates our society. Our lives. We must all fight bitterness, and the temptation to give up. But for some, there is no fighting. There is no one there to encourage them. To fight for them. They have no hope.
This is where we come in. It is us, the children of God, who are called to be the change. For the only “pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress.” (James 1:27) This is were I believe, we can change the world.
“What does the Lord require of you but to do justice, to love kindness and walk humbly with your God?” (Micah 6:8)
I believe God is at work in the world. He is actively working to bring Himself glory. He is giving dreams and visions to people who have never heard His name. He is giving believers the ability to heal, both physically and emotionally. He has created intercessors in His church that have been raised up to stay down on their knees for the unreached people of this world.
I believe in the possibility of a changed world. I believe in God’s faithfulness to complete the task which he gave us, of telling the world of His glory. Of His grace.
I believe God values life. And I believe He has given us the power to heal. To treat illness, to educate against disease and to pray in His name that people might be healed.
I believe this can be church. A community of people living for Christ, and making the world a better place. People spreading God’s word. Living life together.
Some groups doing this? Reaching out to the least of these to change the world? fighting for those who can’t…

But I believe there is always more to do. Let us be active in our own lives in order that we may make this world better.
