My teammate Kara made this great video about life here in Antigua.

We have been busy with ministry this week. Here are some highlights…

We helped a local church, Iglesia del Camino, with a kids program/movie presentation of “Facing the Giants”

They made crowns, because they are princes and princesses of the king.

they LOVED to play. they were perfectly content to run around the room being chased with balloon animals…. so much joy in such a small package.

We have been blessed to work at the Hermano Pedro Children’s Hospital and Orphanage.

We come and help feed them breakfast, brush their teeth and spend time loving on the kids.

Most of the children at Hermano Pedro have a mental or physical handicap.

Many of the kids are left her by their families, because of the difficulty of raising a handicapped child in Guatemala.
Many parts of Guatemala also believe that a mental handicap is “demonic” and evil. So they leave their children here, alone.
They love to be wheeled around the courtyard, throw balls, and play with bubbles. They like to be carried around, tickled and have any of your attention you will give.
It is such a blessing to see their smiles.
This Saturday in Washington D.C. there is an event called “The Call”. It is a day of prayer for America. We are working with a group of Antiguan missionaries to plan a satellite day of prayer during The Call on Saturday, from 8am to 8pm. We are highly involved with this event, and in order to raise money to put it on, we had a Benefit Concert Saturday, featuring the great Jennifer Leverett.
 This is Scarlet. Jen’s Guitar.

Marianne (YWAM Staff), Jen and Kira at the concert.

Eric also played at the concert. Clapping, laughing and general merriment ensued.

Steph and I played skip-bo and drank coffee….delightful evening.

Today we are helping with a clothes distribution in a near by town. We will also finish painting a room at a church this week. I have been helping the coffee shop organize their accounting and working on planning The Call satellite event here. There are lots of things going on in Antigua. Continue to keep us and the people of this beautiful city in your prayers.
