The land of motorcycles, pho, and baguettes…

…and Dr. Pepper!!!!!!!!!!
On one of our first days in Vietnam, we got to go to an orphanage just outside Ho Chi Minh City. The children were beautiful and full of energy. We had tons of fun playing Vietnamese games, having a dance party and celebrating the Mid-Autumn Moon Fetival.
Many of the children in the orphanage have Down Syndrom or other mental disabilites. Even others are deaf, giving us an opportunity to learn some Vietnamese sign language!

We even got to color!

We have also been able to spend time with a local student ministry, hanging out with local college students. We went to one of the universities and played games like simon says, and sang songs for 2 hours. Ministry here is mostly based on building relationships with people, due to the strict communist government. There is freedom of religon, but foreigners can not preach, or evangelize. They are even suspicious of large groups of Americans gathering outside. But we have been able to spend some quality time with many of the students and be a light in this dark country.

It has been a great week so far. I have a lot more pictures to post. Please keep praying. We feel a darkness here and we are fighting it, but the devil doesn’t like us to fight, so he is hitting us back. We are pressing on and pressing in, but please be in prayer for these beautiful people!
