This month has been full of new things, and new challenges. I actually spent about a week at home sick this month and missed out on ministry because of that, and then got sick again but was able to go to ministry with that. This month we have mostly been doing door to door evangelism, but we did some other ministry. I did get to work in the pharmacy twice, and I used a lot of skills that I learned working in the vet clinic in high school (shout out to Pinecrest Veterinary Clinic for teaching me how to fill prescriptions). This month has held many challenges especially living with 46 other people, but it has held many lessons and victories as well. I have learned that I can be thankful for things I don’t agree with and worship isn’t a performance for God, it’s a way to communicate with Him.
This was my first day back to ministry after being sick. We did door to door evangelism in a fishing town in the morning and in the afternoon, we played with some villagers and kids on the beach.

In the fishing village, we got to see this sow and her piglets just a few hours after the piglets were born.
When we showed up in this village we had been told that we would be preaching to men struggling with addiction, but the school kids were there waiting on us instead. I played soccer in a skirt and chacos, and we did kids songs and bible stories.
This picture is from the Sunday that I preached for the first time!
Feet on the ground in a village in Nicaragua!
Before church one Sunday, we had to move out of the road so that cows could use it.
Our compound here! Yes, that is an active volcano in the background.

We have also had a few opportunities for adventure this month. We swam in a lake in the crater of a dormant volcano on afternoon. Another afternoon, we had an amazing hike up an active volcano and then sat on boards and sledded down it! In fact, as we hiked up the mountain we stuck the boards in the space between our backs and backpacks, it was at that moment that I knew what buzz lightyear must feel like.
We are getting ready to move onto Honduras, so please keep my squad in your prayers as we travel, close out month 2, and move forward to month 3.
