What God created out of his hands…today people respect more what human hands had shaped.

This is a quote Ante wrote a few days before I left Croatia. If you don’t remember Ante, he is a young man I met while serving at a coffee shop for a few weeks. He is Catholic and seeking God. This saying he gave to me the last night I saw him has never left me. In fact, it has really begun to get me thinking. Simpler way or saying this quote, is that we tend to respect more what human hands have created (media etc.) than what God has done or is doing!

God created us – the world – with His own TWO HANDS! It took Him only 7 days. Those TWO HANDS that created us, were later the same TWO HANDS that were nailed to the cross, by our own TWO HANDS.
It didn’t take long to have that reality sweep me away and look back over the year as to what TWO HANDS can do.

This year I watched as men, women and children worked in ways I have never seen in order to make a living. They did with their TWO HANDS what we often rely on a machine to do. I witnessed a farmer plowing his field with his TWO HANDS. I watched a mother work with her TWO HANDS with her child on her back. I touched a child who was picking up trash in the slums with his TWO HANDS. I prayed with an AIDS patient who held my hands with her own TWO HANDS.

TWO HANDS can either hurt or help. TWO HANDS can discourage or bless. TWO HANDS are more effective and powerful than one. TWO HANDS that glorify God! We need to stop pulling our TWO HANDS apart and start bringing them together, joining them with another TWO HANDSTWO HANDS can change a life!

These are just a few examples of how TWO HANDS can make a difference in the world. Somethings seem small. Others are big. Yet, they are all done with love and with our Master’s TWO HANDS holding ours, guiding our every move.

What are you doing with the two hands God has given you?

(The picture above is of a little boy I met in Haiti last February. Let’s use our TWO HANDS
to pray, write, encourage and support
in whatever way possible, the
people of Haiti at this time of need! Check out Liz Froba’s blog for more information.)
** Here’s a video that God brought across my path today as I was putting this blog together. I hope not only the lyrics, but pictures, heart and story touches your life and inspires you to use your TWO HANDS today to hug someone, feed someone, pray with someone or whatever else you can think of! **
