God is good! All the time. It is a blessing to share with you what has been going on in my life lately. God is faithful, and I am so amazed by Him. The last month has been such an encouragement and I never would have imagined being in the place I am in right now if it wasn’t for His goodness. The last year seems like a whirlwind, yet through it all, I have persevered, through God’s strength, and I find myself embarking once again on another journey.
God has opened the door for me to be a part of Adventures in Missions in their World Race this coming October. What a joy, excitement and privilege this is. I have always wanted to travel around the world, and what a way to do it – with fellow believers my age in a setting where I am going to grow, be challenged, be a disciple and be discipled, and share the love of Jesus with others around the world. It’s a passion and desire that God is igniting. I never thought that sending in an application for this adventure would change my life. Being accepted and committing to go means surrendering everything to God, abandoning what is comfortable and taking a leap of faith.
Taking on this endeavour did not come easily. Much prayer, thought and consideration went into deciding whether this is what I was to do – what God was asking me to do. With me just getting home from working abroad, now living/working in Maui, then going to camp, I thought that trying to get everything ready in such a short time would be impossible. I kept being reassured that God is bigger and that sometimes we have to take the first step of faith and trust God. Well, here I am, trusting God that all my needs for this missions adventure will be met and that this passion will become a reality!
It is my prayer that you will come alongside of me and be a part of my journey. There are many ways to do this, some of which are encouragement, prayer, and financial support. I would love to build a team of friends who will stand behind me and commit to praying for me daily throughout my travels. I encourage you to join me at my World Race blog jenniweir.theworldrace.org or by connecting through the World Race website www.theworldrace.org As much as I would love to be able to leave for the World Race on prayer alone, I will need to raise $13,800 (approx. $1230/month) to cover my travel and living expenses for the entire eleven months I will be away. This does not cover any additional costs, such as medical/travel insurance, visas, and items on my packing list. Would you pray about supporting me with a one-time gift or monthly pledge? I have calculated that if 50 people committed to giving $25 each month of my trip, I would reach my goal! I know looking at the amount I need to raise in a few short months seems like a lot to ask, but I know that through God, all things are possible, as I have seen so many times in my life.
If you would like to be apart of my ministry in another way, please click the Support Me! Link which invites you to share with me financially in this ministry. Donors will receive receipts for their gifts with the understanding that the disbursement of those gifts lies completely at the discretion of Adventures in Missions and that the gifts are non-refundable and non-transferable, per IRS regulations. Unfortunately, being Canadian, it isn’t possible to receive a tax-deductible receipt, but my hope is that this does not hinder you from supporting me.
I am very excited about how God will use me and what He will teach me through this experience. I hope not only to be a blessing to those I serve, but also to you. My desire is to go as your representative of Jesus Christ. I hope you will prayerfully consider being part of my ministry!
In Him,
Jenni
