This month, I have had many opportunities to build relationships with many University students here in Ho Chi Minh City, as well as Da Lat. It has been a real joy to be able to share life stories with each other, and let them be able to hear, speak and develop their English skills!
There have been many friendships built in our short time here. The people I met are more than friends – they are sisters and brothers that will hold a special place in my heart. We have laughed, hugged and “bonded” in many ways – often on the backs of their Moto’s as they drive us around the city – just so they
can spend more time with us!
They are typical students…learning, studying, working, hanging out with friends…yet, there’s something different about them. They open their hearts to us and to each other. They are loving and giving. They are so generous – buying us treats off the street for us to try, and bringing us home made Vietnamese food! They are willing to go the extra mile in every way, and it has been a blessing, an encouragement. This is what friendship is. This is what matters most – relationships – making time for people you care about!
This is just a little of what Vietnam has looked like. Everything from the relationships to the scenery, city life, and team building. It has been an intense month. I have grown personally and we have grown as a team. We are where we need to be – city, hotel and Country. It’s not always easy – it’s a daily battle to choose in and be where we are – but this is LIFE! This is right.
There are countless stories of how each one of us have touched and been touched by the life of a student, street vendor or cafe attendant. It has been a month about relationships in every way – team, Vietnamese and most importantly, my growth with my Father, my King and my Saviour!
Thanks for your love and prayers as we saw God work in mighty ways this month. It was hard to not share with you the many blessings and experiences He has poured out on us – but I trust that through these few blogs – after the fact – that you will see how He guided us, blessed us and used us every step of the way!
