This seems to be something I have always longed to do. Running barefoot in the sand. It’s not an impossible task, yet it’s not the easiest thing to do. There’s resistance! Then today…I did it. Twice. In between surfing and chilling out with friends on the beach, while trusting God for miracles and praying about Lesotho! It felt amazing…I was out of breath, but it was worth it! The feeling of the sand between my toes and hearing the waves crashing into shore beside me. I wasn’t alone…I was with a friend, and better yet, I had God at my side!

Psalm 119:32
I run in the path of your commands, for you have set my heart free.

That’s quite the way living life is. Living out God’s commands! It’s not easy, but it’s a daily task. If we aren’t alive, we are dead…it’s one or the other; we can’t be both! Trusting God. Running. Embracing Life!

We have been called to run. Often, we want to take our jolly sweet time and not be in a rush to get anywhere. We take the time to stop and smell the roses and embrace the things around us…yet we miss out on sprinting to the finish line. We are so consumed with the other things in life that our focus is off the prize…what is the prize you are focused on!? Is it God, or something else!? What distractions are in your way!?

1 Corinthians 9:24
Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.

When I was relaxing on the beach and kept seeing people running barefoot in the sand, it inspired me. It made me realize that through it all…no matter what the circumstance, we need to press on and RUN, even if  we loose our shoes along the way and end up having to run barefoot in the sand – or on rocks for that matter. We can’t give up just because life get’s us down…

 Hebrews 12:1
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of
witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so
easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.
This month, my team is embarking on a new journey..into a place we do not know much about. We had no idea until this morning even where exactly we were going or how we were going to get there. We just new we needed to run in that direction…and here we are, being obedient to God, trusting Him, and being blessed! It’s not going to be easy, but we need to keep on keeping on and running to where He is calling!

Are you RUNNING towards your Father or are you slowly walking his way, taking side streets and “testing” the way before you fully emerge in the race!?
