I leave this FRIDAY to go to Winnipeg, as I fly out EARLY Saturday morning – as in, I need to be at the airport by 4:30am…I’ve been asked if I’m ready. Usually, my answer is No, but lately, my answer has been “I’m as ready as I’m gonna be.” God has been preparing me and I have been enjoying spending some much needed quality time with Him!
I’ve had the blessing, pleasure and privilege of meeting a fellow racer who just returned from the January ’08 Race.
Matt Peters is a fellow Canadian and Manitobian, and has been an encouragement to me as I’ve begun to prepare for the next year of my life. He also blessed me by answering MANY questions and also giving me a tent to use for the year! THANK YOU MATT! Praise the Lord!!! He recently asked me “Are you ready for fire breathing, no holds bared, kingdom bringing, tongue speaking, spirit filled, unshakable generation, adventure?!”
To my surprise, my reply was “As much as I can be. I’m ready to not be where I am. The more I wait, the more I am eagerly anticipating what is to come!” I should also add, “I’m ready to see the world, change the world, and experience God” I’m almost done packing. I’m slowly saying good-bye. It’s HARD to let go of what I hold so dear here at home, yet I know leaving is just the beginning and will only better what already is. It’s good-bye for now, but I’ll be back with a new take on life, God, who I am and what this wold really is like!
While I am gone, I’ll have limited internet access, but will do my best to keep these blogs coming as often as I can. I’ll try to e-mail when I can. I’ll put pictures up when I get the chance. There are no guarantees, except that I am going with God! I’ll also have the blessing and encouragement of receiving MAIL.
CARDS and LETTERS from home can be taken to the field most of the time. We understand the value of this to racers on the field and will try our best to get these to the field each time the Coach visits (about once a month). Cards and letters should be flat and compact. We would like to try and limit each racer to 5 cards or letters per trip because we will need to sent them to the Coaches to pack. All of these MUST be sent to the AIM office TWO WEEKS before the Coach leaves for debrief to ensure that it will arrive on the field. Please mail these to:

I would LOVE to hear from you! What a blessing it would be to get something handwritten rather than always reading a screen! Knowing that I am thought of and prayed for is a great way to brighten my day as well as the rest of the team and Squad. I am sure there are going to be times that I will be missing home a great deal, and a “reminder” from home that I am thought of would be a great encouragement, especially with the little communication I will have.
Thank you all so much for your love, prayers and support this past year as I have been preparing for this next year. I could not do this without you. I hope that you will be able to get a little “taste” of what I will be experiencing this next year through these blogs, pictures and stories of God working in and through me!
If you have any questions or need any more information about sending mail, e-mails, phone calls (or Skype) or the like, please e-mail me and I’ll be more than willing to do my best to help answer your question!
Love you all!
