Another day, another opportunity! God, you
are so good and have blessed me in more ways that I could imagine.

Our team, a combination of the Gentle
Warriors and Indelible – check out their blogs for other stories and viewpoints
of our ministry, is so thankful for the “casa” God has provided for us. We are
living like kings and queens this month according to World Race standards. We
don’t have to cook or clean. We have washing machines for our laundry. I have
running water, electricity, internet, a comfy bed, amazing authentic Dominican
food and so much more! We have a wonderful family to take care of us and our
needs. We are blessed. We are loved.

Our days are long and busy here in Azua. We
are suppose to start our ministry at 9am, but here in the DR, we run on
Dominican time, which means things never start on time and that we start to
think about where we are to be going when we are suppose to be there. It calls
for patience and flexibility, yet all works out in the end!

Our contact, Pastor Raul, brings us up to
the school every day so that we can teach the children English and how to play
basketball and volleyball. These kids don’t have much discipline, so teaching
can often be hard and frustrating as a lot of the little boys are extremely
active and like to throw things and hit! In just two days, we have already seen
a difference. After we taught the boys basketball, they went on to practice
themselves without any prompting…and we found out later that they were all
the troublemakers! Praise the Lord for being able to make a difference!

The community church has about 150 members
– most of them are children or youth! They are so lively and friendly. They
sing and worship from their hearts! For some reason, the songs sound so much
better in Spanish!

In a few short days, we have heard so many
touching stories and met so many people in need. They have so little, yet are
willing to give so much! The roads here are extremely rocky and bumpy. There
are no “road rules” and the right of way goes to the most aggressive driver. I
have experienced many different forms of transportation – 12 people in a 5
passenger jeep. Standing on the guard rails on the side of the vehicle. 3
people on a motorcycle.

God is good. Your prayers are appreciated and an encouragement. Please pray especially for health and safety. We are getting ready to head up to an area today to do some cleaning, building and ministry. There is so much going on, and it is amazing to already see what God can do in such a short time. People coming to Christ. Seeing the simple faith of a child. A sick older lady named Anna who has so much love and faith for God. A woman and her family who continually watch what we do and become encouraged JUST by a smile!

These are just a few things God is doing and we have not even been here in Azua a week yet! Pictures are coming. So are videos! The presence of God is here…and it is spreading…
