These three words took on a new meaning for me this week. It was one simple question. “Who’s willing to come up and share briefly about why you love Jesus?” Before I knew it, I was standing and walking towards the front of the room, unsure of what I was going to say, but knowing that Jesus loves me, that I love Jesus and that He was going to give me the words to share with these children!
Why do I love Jesus? It’s easy to say Jesus Loves me. It’s also easy for me to say I love Jesus. But, when you are asked why you love Jesus and have no time to “prepare an answer” what are you going to say? Thinking on the spot. Trusting God to give me the words. Believing that I was standing where I needed to be. That I was being used by God. That why I love Jesus is more than because he loves me and because he saved me. It’s more than because my parents told me He loves me or the Bible says so. It’s deeper than what I hear and read.
So, my question to you is why do you love Jesus? When you don’t have time to think about it, what are you going to say? When you are faced with this question, will you just shrug it off lightly, or will you go deep and share the real reasons why you love Jesus? Honestly, we shouldn’t even need time to think. This should be our daily life…to live out Jesus love for me, why He loves me and I love Him!
Yes, Jesus loves me…but do I truly love Him in return? Am I willing to show and share my love for Him?
