History Maker

How do I begin to put into words what I have lived and experienced the last few weeks? GOD SHOWED UP! Don’t get me wrong, I know God’s always there…but I think most of the time we “forget” that fact. I felt God’s presence. I was empowered by the Holy Spirit. I had an encounter with God like no other. It took my breath away – literally! I was weak and weightless…the strength I had in me was not my own. The breath of God came and filled me up. He breathed new life into me. What an experience…

 

Coming home was going to be hard. How do I live out what I just witnessed? How do I be the person I am called to be…I came to life in SO many ways in Georgia…yet at home, I tend to feel confined. As incredible as Training Camp was, it wasn’t reality…being in community with 55 young adults that LOVE God, and have a passion to live it out. We love God at home, yet often it becomes a “have to” rather than a want to. It becomes a chore rather than a privilege.    

 

Here I am, a week after being home…and I can still feel the presence of God. I am enjoying every minute of it. I have been at rest – at peace and yet this is still just the beginning. God refreshed me on Sunday more than I could have imagined…being able to connect with friends and share about the passion that God has ignited in my heart! One of the songs that was sung was “new” to most people, but not to me. It touched me – made me think of the Squad – and brought tears to my eyes. THIS is what it’s all about. This is REAL. This stuff happens. It is TRUE. I BELIEVE it. I’m gonna LIVE it. It’s one things to read the Bible, it’s another thing to live it! As you read the lyrics to the song below, ask yourself whether you believe it and are willing to STAND UP and LIVE IT…this is more than what did happen! This is about TODAY – the hear and now – what is happening!
