To my Dad, on Father’s Day! I wish I could say and do more…but here’s a little of what God have given me for you…

Here is a trustworthy saying: If anyone sets his heart on being an overseer, he desires a noble task. Now
the overseer must be above reproach, the husband of but one wife,
temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him with proper respect. (If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God’s church?)…He must also have a good reputation with outsiders, so that he will not fall into disgrace and into the devil’s trap.
1 Timothy 3:1-5, 7a

I would not be who I am today if it weren’t for your love, compassion,
gentleness, discipline, encouragement, patience and so much more!

“Father’s, do not exasperate your children; instead bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord!” Ephesians 6:4

I could not ask for a better Father…you are a man after God’s own heart!
You are loved and respected dearly.
I look up to you and am honoured, proud and pleased to be called your daughter!
Listen to your father, who gave you life, and do not despise your mother when she is old. Buy the truth and do not sell it; get wisdom, discipline and understanding. The father of a righteous man has great joy; he who has a wise son delights in him. May your father and mother be glad; may she who gave you birth rejoice! Proverbs 23:22-25

Thank you for allowing me to be me.
Thank you for teaching me about God.
Thank you for loving me through my imperfections.
Thank you for your laughter and your tears!

Endure hardship and discipline: God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father? If you are not disciplined (and everyone undergoes discipline), then you are illegitimate children and not true sons. Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of our spirits and live! Our fathers disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, that we may share in his holiness. No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of rightewousness and peace for those who have been trained by it. Hebrews12:7-11

You are much more than my dad – you are my friend!
I Love You!

Praying a blessing on you, this special day, and always!
