The last three months in Africa have come on gone quickly. We are now beginning our final season of the race and heading to our final continent. Reality still has yet to kick in that the race is coming to an end…

Being in Africa has been a dream. It has been a continent I have always desired to come to, and I have fallen in love with it. Everything from living in huts and as the people do, to the 4 hour church services that are spirit filled, to the LONG, uncomfortable and packed transportation in the combi’s (a van that piles as many people AND things in it as possible!)

I still feel like it was just a few days ago that I arrived in Jo’burg, ready to start ministry in Africa. Now, I am just outside of Jo’burg, a few short days away from boarding a plane to another Continent I have never been to. We will be flying into Romania and having a short month of ministry before a World Race Conference with alumni and current World Race Squads.

As of now, we still have no idea where we will be, who we will be working with or what we will be doing. It is common to have things change a few times during debrief, and already since leaving Lesotho, we have had our ministry opportunities change. Once again, we are heading into the unknown! The important and comforting thing is that God already knows, and to just sit in His arms and go along for the ride is freeing, relaxing and amazing!

I am excited for the new possibilities that are ahead. I love being reunited with the Squad after not seeing them all for two months, as we never came together as a Squad at the end of July. I am anxious to once again board a plane, shed weight in my backpack and move on to new experiences in new places.

The next few months will fly by, and be hard in many ways…keeping our focus on WHAT IS, not what is to come will be a daily battle. It would be so easy to turn towards the future and dream of home and start “planning” where we are going to be and what we are going to do once we get done the race…

Please pray that we will all continue to experience living in and embracing the moment rather than hoping for what is to come and missing out on what is right in front of us!
