Here I sit. My past behind me. The rest of my life in front of me. I am dreaming, trying to put into action ALL that God has put on my heart. Where do I start? How do I follow-through and not just dream them, but LIVE them as well.
 
When I think of Adventure, I think “out of the box,” something that most people would run from. An adventure awaits. I don’t want to only wish I can live my adventures and dreams, I want to take action and really live them! God has given me a spirit of adventure. He has created us to be DREAMERS.
 
Have you seen the movie UP? It is filled with so much truth. Adventure IS out there…just around the corner, waiting for us to find it, explore it, and live it! Anything is possible if you believe. What you believe can be achieved. God is with me and desires me to live out the dreams he has put on my heart. It is easy to doubt whether I have what it takes to seek it out and do it, yet God wants me to focus on Him and the strengths He has given me, rather than on my weaknesses and what others are saying.
 
One quote that has stood out from Searchlight so far is (my abbreviation):
It’s not my responsibility to understand; it’s my job to obey
 

Mark 10:27 tells us that Jesus looked at His disciples intently and said,
“Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But not with God.
Everything is possible with God.”
 
There are often many things that get in the way of us living up to our potential, and living out these Kingdom Dreams. We tend to have a lack of confidence – a fear. This fear can come from a number of different things. What will people think? Will I ever get the money? We also tend to put other things, as well as other people and their dreams in front of our dreams. Most of the time, we think and believe they will never happen, so become discouraged before we even start!
 

Do I have what it takes to dream these dreams? To live them out?
To make them happen? To trust God? Even though I have the faith, hope,
trust and persistence, and am not afraid of the risks that are ahead, I
still can’t do ANYTHING without knowing and believing that God is leading the way and
in control!
 
As I was reflecting on the day, specifically the movie clip we watched of UP, God placed a song on my heart that I’ve always known, yet never really took the time to focus on the words. His perfect timing created a perfect fit. We often dream the “impossible” dream and leave it at that. What would happen if we all not only kept dreaming them, but started to invest in them and live them? I believe that the dreams God gives us CAN change the world. Not on our own, but through Him!
 
To DREAM the impossible dream

To FIGHT the unbeatable foe
To BEAR with unbearable sorrow
To RUN where the brave dare not go

To RIGHT the unrightable wrong
To LOVE pure and chaste from afar
To TRY when your arms are too weary
To REACH the unreachable star

This is my quest. To follow that star
No matter how hopeless. No matter how far
To fight for the right. Without question or pause
To be willing to march into Hell. For a heavenly cause

And I know if I’ll only be true. To this glorious quest
That my heart will lie peaceful and calm. When I’m laid to my rest
And the world will be better for this. That one man, scorned and covered with scars

Still strove with his last ounce of courage. To reach the unreachable star
 
I desire to dream and live the impossible dream. Dream the dreams God gives me – throughout the day and in my sleep. I want to dare to do what others don’t understand, live my life out of the box, and be confident in the one who leads me.
 
Stop saying I can’t, and start saying God can!
