Every once in awhile there is intersection between squads while on the field. Here in Chiang Mai we were fortunate enough to run into 3 other squads all in different parts of their journey. This intersection brought about The Awakening  which was a  three day conference put on for all of us to be filled, share, encourage and come together as the body of Christ. We were honored with hearing the wisdom of Andrew Shearman for our main speaker.

Awaken: rouse to stop sleeping.

Awake, my soul!

    Awake, harp and lyre!

    I will awaken the dawn.

Psalm 57:8

Am I awake? Am I just coasting by or living truly alive? I need to stop slumbering, awake from nonexistence. I am a spokeswoman for God! I need to wake up each morning with a ‘yes’ in my spirit. There is no time for silence. I desire and pray to be fully obedient to God’s calling; who He wants me to approach, how I present myself, and take up my cross daily.

I need to take responsibility for my life. He has given me the Holy Spirit, I’m filled and now responsible for my growth. I cannot live circumstantially or emotionally. Paul learned to be content, self-sufficient, in Christ. When he was abounding in riches while staying with Lydia or when he was whipped and beaten in a jail cell he would still worship and be joyful. Wow, I have no excuse to let a bad day shut me up or ruin my day. No room for pity parties.

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Joshua 1:9

Thanks Andrew for your inspiration and refueling. I am awake and alive for Christ!

Fun Fact: This weekend is SongKran which is the biggest water festival in the world. It is the way the Thai celebrate the new year and symbolizes cleansing of sins and starting fresh! It’s crazy…I can’t even leave the hostel without getting squirted with water or a whole bucket dumped on me! People just line the streets with buckets and water guns. I’m trying to embrace it…not a fan of being wet in clothes lol
