This past week was the Parent Vision Trip…my parents did not attend along with a few other of my squad mates so we nicknamed ourselves the orphans lol Don’t feel bad for us though we were able to take a mini adventure (it took us one uber-12 hour train ride- tuk tuk- ferry- foot to make it) to a little hippy island in Hampy, India. We stayed at a quaint hostel, did some bouldering, hiking, exploring, reading and chilling. We watched the sunset from boulders every evening and enjoyed some great food. Our abba, father in heaven, took great care of us and showed us His love in His beautiful creation. Who knew I would be experiencing this in India!

Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.
Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song.
For the LORD is the great God, the great King above all gods.
In his hand are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to him.
The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land.
Psalm 95:1-5
Overlooking Hampy, ancient ruins and the green fields are rice patties!
Fun Fact: Chai is a must here. It is common to have chai breaks twice a day wherever you are. Street vendors sell little shot glass sized cups for 10-12 rupees; even on the train they come around yelling, “chai!” with their thermoses. Some kids even climbed up the rocks to try and sell to us while hiking. It is made with buffalo milk and spices.
Random fact: 3/4 cup of peanut butter has the same amount of calories as 7 cups of rice and an additional 100 grams of fat…
