Central America it’s been real. These first few months have been more or less comfortable since I have had experience in this region of the world. I know conversational Spanish and can navigate my way around and am familiar with the culture. I am not caught off guard by the cat-calls while walking along the streets, the random celebrations happening frequently and the fried plantains that surprisingly agreed with my stomach. I am going to miss the relaxed way of life and the beauty of the mountains.

It’s time to move on into the great unknown. I’m starting my new voyage into uncharted waters. On Sunday I will be leaving to Africa and have no idea what I am getting myself into. You are probably thinking hot, dry, safari environment with cute little kids running everywhere and little huts in the bush. However, I am off to Cote d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast) in West Africa which is actually a huge port on the coast with big skyscrapers…that being said I have no idea what ministry will look like, what people I will meet, my living conditions or cultural norms. Let the adventure begin!

For the cherry on top, I am also on a new team! Gonna miss my gals but excited for this new chapter with new brothers and sisters!

Introducing…

Tidal Wave!

Tidal Wave. A wave that is caused by daily tides. Our daily moments with God will shape how we are as a team.

Tidal Wave. It’s sound that brings peace to many. We will be people who carry the peace of God wherever we go.

Tidal Wave. A wave that has quiet strength; when it crashes it turns things upside down and stirs things up beneath the surface.

Tidal Wave. A team that will stir things up i others that they have never experienced before.

Tidal Wave. A group of people inspired by the disciples in Acts who were turning the world upside down.

Acts 17:1-9

One last fun fact for Central America: Lake Nicaragua is the 19th largest lake in the world! It is a huge freshwater body of water formed by volcanic activity. We got to spend the afternoon floating and swimming in it before our departure 🙂
