I had a friend that recently reminded me of the time we went sky diving a few years ago. It was something I had been dreaming about for forever and when I turned nineteen we actually went. When it comes up in a conversation that I have been skydiving people usually look at me for a minute, mouth open, and speechless before they can ask the normal question….were you scared? The truth is there was not a moment of my skydiving experience that I was scared. I may have been jumping out a perfectly good airplane, but I two perfectly good parachutes to bring me safely to the ground. I approached sky diving like I do everything else in my life with a smile and laughter.
Now when I tell people I’m going on World Race I get the same response mouth open and speechless before there excitement for me takes over. People ask me if I’m scared leaving my home and my family (or my perfectly good airplane) to adventure around the world for a year with people I have never met I answer very truthfully No. Although I am heading on an unknown adventure I know I have three perfectly good parachutes to bring me safely back. The first being the support and love from my friends and family back home. The second being the friends and family I will meet on this trip in my team and squad mates. The third most important being God. He will protect me and guide me on this next adventure. I will approach this next step in my life like everything else with a smile and laughter.
