Thank you so much for stopping by the blog! My name is Jenna Danielle Wiles and I am blessed to be living out my call to do the World Race (WR). I grew up in Liberty, Missouri (a wonderful place) before moving to Fort Worth, TX for college. I just graduated from Texas Christian University with a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish. I very much love both subjects and the various ways they challenge me. I also love yoga, ice cream, Broadway music, jogging, and satire.

My freshman spring break in the Dominican Republic, these girls let me join in on their fun for an afternoon.

My time at TCU has helped me nurture a passion for the world’s people and traveling to meet them, as well as a deep and fiery excitement to become a physician. After the World Race, I will move back to Dallas and attend medical school at UT Southwestern. Until then, I am a backpacking missionary who is grateful for your prayers and support! The “ministry bio” of my WR profile succinctly tells the gifts and passions I hope to bring to the mission:

Passionate worship leader (singer). Comfortable in medical contexts and enthusiastic about health issues. Logical thinker; enjoys discussion, research, and teaching on tough topics. Loves to care for infants, pray in intercession and do labor-intensive service projects. Advanced oral and written Spanish. Gifted in brainstorming and plan formation.

You may notice that “historically a light packer”, “resilient stomach”, “communicates well through electronic media” and “great navigating” are not included. . .I’ll let you know how that goes.

I am stepping into WR and post-grad life with many unknowns, but in my most anxious moments of every doubt and concern, I find myself returning to the truth at the end of Psalm 73. No practical instructions, but it reminds me of where I am designed to thrive.

“But as for me, it is good to be near God. I have made the Sovereign Lord my refuge; I will tell of all your deeds”

When it comes down to it, that’s the little bit about me that counts most.
