Antigua, Guatemala

If you were like me, you probably have never heard of Antigua. I had no idea what to expect when we were told last month that we were placed in this city.  It has been one of the most breathtaking places that I have been to on the race. I am amazed by how nature has made an impact on this country. The city we live in is built on layers and layers of lava that flowed down from a volcano in the late 18th century. The ruins are caused by earthquakes in the 18th century. The people here have a deep story. You have families of people who came from Spain when they conquered Guatemala. You have Mayans and tourists. It is rich in its architecture. I am in love with it’s food. They have artisans everywhere that make the most interesting things like handmade boots!

I cannot stress the love that I have for this place and I want to share this love with you all.

Here’s my month 10 video. I hope you get to experience the beauty of this country and these people through my 4.5 minute video. ENJOY!
