Into the Classroom
Its finally hit me that I am a missionary living in a foreign country with 13 other young Jesus loving people. We live with the lovely Santo’s family who has graciously given us the privilege to call their home our home.
Each day is a new day and we know only the night before what we will be doing and even that may change.
Background knowledge, we attend at least four church services a week. Our first weekend here in El Salvador we went to FIVE church services in THREE days! Each beautiful and powerful, we only understood because of AMAZING translators.
Our ministry here is partnering with the Baptist Tabernacle church here in El Salvador. The church has many locations around El Salvador and have many ministry programs. One of the ministries we have been apart of almost weekly is going to kindergarten classes in the city. We go with one of the pastors and a few woman from the church. We sing songs with the kids, in Spanish of course and we are just now starting to understand the songs, and then they teach a bible lesson though a skit!
One of the days they asked us to prepare a skit about forgiveness for the next day and we without knowing much Spanish had a translator narrate as we performed our skit. Someone has a video somewhere but it was cute. After that we sing more songs and give them galletas (cookies). Then we pack up and go to the next kindergarten.
What’s different about these kindergarten classrooms is that they are in the center of markets. We have to walk through narrow walkways, in and out of stores it’s almost like the flea market. but bigger. Moms who own or work at a shop in the market bring their kids to the kindergarten. The kids in these classrooms may not have a great home life or their family lives day to day. What I see is the church seeking people who need Jesus and loving children. God loves his children and children bring joy to our world. I also love that no matter what language you speak you can relate to kids in the same way you would at home.
God is teaching me how to do his work with the resources around us. The men and woman at the church are amazing examples of servants of God and are leading by example. If you are reading this blog and have get ideas or suggestions for easy skits or teaching ideas EMAIL ME! Or crafts I love crafts!

Prayer requests
Please pray for both team River Jumpers and team Meek's health, a bunch of us have been off and on sick. Being sick keeps us from ministry and makes us miss home like crazy!
This weekend we have three people from our team preaching at church, pray for the message and the power of translation.
Pray for our host family and that God continues to bless them.
