God puts people in our lives for certain reasons. Some to teach us, some to grow us, some to challenge us, some to love us, and some to simply do life with us. In the past month, I’ve driven over 5,000 miles to visit family and friends before I leave. During my last ride back to my second home (the Quad Cities) I realized how crazy blessed that made me feel. I have so many wonderful people in my life, that I was happy to drive 5,000 miles all over the midwest to see them. And not only that, I had people come and visit me, too.

Throughout this whole process, I’ve begun to realize how many people, places, and opportunities I took for granted over the last few years. I love my family and friends, but it was just routine to see them and hang out with them. It wasn’t until my last drive back that I realized how crazy blessed I am to love so many people, and have them love me.

So this is a thank you to everyone who’s loved me through this whole process, and who continues to support me. Please remember that you are on this journey with me, and that I’ll be carrying you to every one of the 11 countries I go to. There’s a few ways you can keep up with me during the 11 months!

Subscribe to my blog! Go to the lefthand side of the page and type in your email address. Every time I update, it’ll send you an email. Easy peasy! That way, you don’t need to keep checking back! My goal is to update once a week, depending on my wifi situation in each country it’ll vary.
Follow my hashtag! My lovely sister came up with the hashtag #racingwithjenna. I’ll be adding this hashtag to all my photos, and you’ll be able to click on the hashtag and see all the photos/posts with that hashtag attached. Since it’s an unusual one, it SHOULD only be my posts 🙂
Friend me on Facebook and Instagram if you haven’t already! I’ll be posting most of my photos to those two sites, so feel free to send a request. My Instagram is @jnojazz1 and my Facebook is just Jenna Orabutt.

I’m so excited to share this journey with you all, and I hope you’ll enjoy the stories and pictures. I’m currently on my way to Atlanta for something called Launch, which will be some more training and team building before we leave. We don’t have an exact date of when we’ll fly to Panama, but it’ll be early next week.

And when I get to Panama…I’ll be working with a ministry called icjesus in San Felix, Panama. It’s a ministry that works with deaf children, and we may be building a water well, too! I’m extremely excited that this will be my first month’s mission, and to be working alongside another girls team as well! That’s all the information I have on the ministry so far, but once I get to Launch or to the site in Panama, I’ll be sure to update more!

Thank you again for all the love and support. You all are amazing, and I’m so blessed to have such wonderful people in my life.
God bless,
Jenna
