The rumors that you may have heard are indeed true.

I am moving to the south.

Georgia, of all places. One of the original seven Confederate states. #historynerdalert

…I can safely say that I never saw this one coming.

I’m still currently in Minnesota, for the holidays, the snow and a white Christmas. But, I know now where I’m heading next, and I cannot express how thrilled I am about it. Even though it caught me by surprise.

Starting early in 2013, I will begin working for Adventures in Missions.
They are headquartered in Gainesville, Georgia.
Very very soon I will be working for the World Race department.

Which means that I will actually have a hand in the process. I will be on the other side of the crazy adventure that I just myself returned from. I will be able to impact the twenty and thirty-somethings that are heading out to the field. Just like I did last year.

And even if I don’t get a chance to talk to every single person, or if my contribution is seemingly small, I’m great with that. Because I’ll still have a part, however small. And that, is totally worth it.

BOOYAH.

Currently, I'm in the process of raising monthly support for this. I would be blessed and ecstatic if you considered partnering with me financially in this endeavor. I still need your help – your prayers, your encouragement and your support. The journey that began isn't over yet.

Flashback to early May of this year. A-squad was at our month 8 debrief in Siem Reap, Cambodia. It was a great few days of squad worship, ridiculous adventures, and life-giving talks courtesy of two AIM staff gentlemen.

We were all crammed in a space that normally isn’t used for gatherings like ours, all fifty or so of us. And as usual, I had my journal next to me so that I could jot down quotes and thoughts and prayers. One of the staff guys was talking about reentry, which was looming on the horizon.

This is what I wrote:

They need to catch this. They need to catch that God doesn't fit into boxes, that the Holy Spirit is real, that miracles happen, that there are great things in store for us, that nothing is impossible, that Jesus absolutely, without a doubt loves them.

It was this crazy moment of clarity, where I knew that somehow, at some point, in some way, I would be involved in passing along this baton. I knew that I wanted to pass along this experience, tell others about it, help others join it.

I want others to join in the story that God is telling. It’s a crazy story, and it’s a crazy good story, too.

So that's what I'm going to go and do. I'm joining staff with Adventures, working with the World Race department, and using my A-type, overly organized, list-loving characteristics to do logistics.

I wholeheartedly love what Adventures does.
I love the role that the Race has [thus far] played in my life.

If you cannot commit to supporting me monthly, but would like to give a one-time donation, consider it the best Christmas gift you could give me.

God, being the best Father ever, and highlighting his Jehovah Jireh – ness, has already set up most of the process for me. I have a place to live, an apartment with women who are also on staff. I have a bed to sleep on. I have no car, but people to carpool with.

Georgia, however surprising, is exactly where I am supposed to be. Everything about this transition is falling into place in a way that can only be attributed to the Lord.

I'm moving as soon as I raise the monthly support I need. 🙂

I would love to talk to you about it, answer your questions, anything, really. I am excited about this next step and cannot wait to begin working there.

Peaches, sweet tea, porches, and Adventures! here I come.

I'm moving websites and will no longer be blogging here on the World Race page!
