Hello everyone!

This officially marks my second blog post as I continue going deeper into this crazy journey! Just a few updates; t-shirts are on their way as we speak (or as I type and you read), I am over halfway to my goal of $5,000 I need in June, My gear registry at REI has been getting some attention, I have my passport and I am about to purchase plane tickets to get to training camp in July! It’s been a crazy few months since my first blog and I can’t express how blessed I am.

The first few months of fundraising was defiantly difficult to say the least. I was starting to feel discouraged because fundraising was dragging and I felt like I wasn’t getting anywhere. That maybe I wasn’t where God wanted me to be. Even though I began worrying, God knew what he was doing and even though it didn’t feel like he was moving, he was. He wasn’t moving in the aspect of fundraising for the trip, yet, but he was moving in a different area of my life. While I was having these anxious thoughts that this might not be where I am supposed to be, He showed me community. That even though I wasn’t getting a ton of funds, He had blessed me with an amazing group of people who have loved and supported me on this journey. My friends, family, and church family have been incredibly supportive and have shown me what true community is. Now God has also blessed me with my squad family that I’ve only known for a short while but I already know we’ll be a tight knit group. I’m so excited to meet them at training camp!

Once I began to realize he was moving in that area of my life and was still working in others, my funds started picking up in April and now I am halfway to my first goal! Through this whole process God’s been teaching me how to be content in my life no matter the circumstance. Whether, I’m getting a lot of funding or not, if I’m stressed out and have a ton to finish or not, and simply if I’m waiting for something and God is still working on it and not moving right away. I can’t contain the joy I have because of all the things that have been happening and all the things God has been showing me! I can’t thank everyone who has been supporting me prayerfully and financially enough!

In the small group I was apart of at youth group we discussed the topic of contentment in all situations and the passage of Philippians chapter 4. After discussing our situations that made it hard and easy to be content, we had decided that in all circumstances to remember this phrase:

“Trust God and eat pie”
