…inspired by Why Keep Blogging? by Ruth Cortese

I used to think the process of blogging was kind of stupid. Why should I put my thoughts out there for everyone and anyone to read? And who is even interested in my thoughts, anyway? When I began my World Race blog over a year ago, I did it because "I had to." It was for my supporters. They had blessed me with the funds to go help others, so they should hear about those others they had helped. What I came to realize is that, while it's true this blog was very much for them, for you, it also became a kind of therapy for me, a way to process the experiences I was going through. And your comments made me realize that I wasn't alone in those experiences or feelings. I felt amazingly supported when you wrote me, encouraged me, and I felt blessed to be able to share with you the amazing ways I saw God working in the world. Well, the 11 month race around the world may be over, but life goes on.

I had the best and the worst year of my life (not exaggerating here!), but what's next? What can you possibly do after traveling around the world? Loving on orphans and prostitutes? Feeding children in Africa? Experiencing freedom, community, unselfish love… miracles? What do you do when you come home changed, and realize that home hasn't changed with you?

…You keep moving forward.

I'm going to keep chipping away at my hard places until all that's left is dependence on God. And I want to invite you to continue the journey with me. I ask you to continue to pray for me, and to continue to follow my new blog at braveagain.wordpress.com. I encourage you to continue to send me feedback and comments. And I pray that as God continues to change and shape my life, He will do the same to yours.

In addition to being a commentary on my walk with God, I really hope this new blog can be a place for people to find ways to support His kingdom!! I know when I first felt Him tugging on my heart to get involved, I didn’t know where to start. And when I googled volunteer opportunities, I felt so overwhelmed with the options. Well, at braveagain, under the Get Involved page, you’ll find ways to directly support or volunteer with people that I personally know who are doing amazing things to spread God’s love. I hope you’ll check it out and prayerfully consider supporting their work for the kingdom.
