Learning to count my blessings….
no running water, but we sometimes have electricity and internet
no airconditioning, but we have fans (when said electricity works)
no shower, but we have buckets of water
no refrigerator, but we have a 2 burner cooktop
no beds, but we have a treehouse
no restaurants, but we have a smoothie stand
no comfort food, but we have plenty of rice
no cars, but we have legs (and occasionally borrowed bikes)
no family, but we have each other
no comforts, but we have our God
we may have little, but I somehow find I'm thankful for much
(and if that isn't a blessing from God, I don't know what is)
(our host family)
God has given us all that we need….
By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have recieved all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world's corruption caused by human desires.
-2 Peter 1: 3-4
…but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, live rightously, and he will give you everything you need.
-Matthew 6: 32-33
