For about two and a half days last week, we spent time in Brasov, Romania as a squad. The purpose of this time was to raise up squad leaders and to get new teams. I had no idea who was going to be on my new team, but unlike the first time I found out my team I was not nervous by any means. So, Friday morning came and my squad gathered together on the roof outside our wonderful purple hostel.
First the squad leaders were announced and then the team leaders stood up to announce their new team. I watched my old team members get called and eventually it was my teams turn! I am no longer apart of Team Empowered Light, but instead am with all new people on Team REAL (recognizing every act in love). My new team includes:
*Austin Ulsh – Team leader. I’ve been with his team the past three months, so I’m excited to get to actually be a part of his team.
*Kristin Fuller – I was with Kristin’s team in the DR where after about three weeks, we decided to be friends. Our time together in Haiti spend doing construction just solidified our friendship. Needless to say, I am very excited to continue our friendship and to see how we both grow over the year.
*Sarah Craycroft – Before being on her team, Sarah and I spent about one day together in Haiti. That day we were sent to help with some ‘carpentry’ but after hurrying up to help we spent most of the day waiting (typical Haiti). But in that time, we learned a lot about each other and I quickly learned to respect and love her honesty and boldness.
*Molly Capistrant – I was with Molly for the first three months as well, but we didn’t really talk until about 2 weeks ago. She is married to Ty and is 4 months pregnant! Sadly for us, her and her husband will be leaving after this month, but I’m glad I have this opportunity to get to know her better.
*Ty Capistrant – Ty and I became friends last month in Romania. We both remember the day, we were plastering (like we did everyday in Romania) and we ended up in the same room and just started talking. It’s going to be great having him on my team this month so we can continue to have entertaining conversations.
*Alicia Thompson – Honestly, I don’t know that much about Alicia, except that she loves climbing things and needs her alone time. I also need my alone time, so I feel like we are going to get along very well!
*Ben Wilcoxson – Ben is one of those people that is just easy to talk to. I haven’t had much time to get to know him, but I’m definitely excited to get to know him better.
For this month, we have a team of eight, which is huge! But after this month we will be down to just six because Ty and Molly are returning back to the states so come September they can welcome their first baby!

Unless something unexpected occurs, this will be my team for the next eight months and honestly, I’m pretty excited about it!
