For the past couple of weeks, every time I mention the World Race people look at me and say “Are you excited?”  But before I get the chance to answer they ask “Are you nervous?”  My answer has always been the same and is actually the same for both questions… “Not yet.”

When I was living in Fargo, I said I’d probably get nervous when I finished working and move back into my parents’ house.  Then I moved…

So I said I’d get nervous after Christmas.  But Christmas came and went…

Then I said when I got back from my New Years retreat at camp.  Well, I’m back…

Now I’m leaving in 5 days and I don’t feel nervous at all.  Okay, maybe a little nervous that everything won’t fit into my backpack or that one of my many dreams about forgetting everything will come true, but overall, I don’t feel nervous.  If you know me well enough you know that I get nervous for EVERYTHING, so this is kind of a big deal.

I’m not saying that 4 days from now I won’t be freaking out about packing and leaving and everything else, but for now, instead of being nervous, I just feel ready.  I’m ready to leave my house and all my stuff and to go where I’m not comfortable or familiar.  I’m ready to do whatever God asks and to completely lose myself to Him in the process.  He has always provided for me and I know He always will.

For example, I was praying to have $10,000 in my World Race account before I left, and I currently have $12,225.75!  Which means I only need $3,274.25 to be fully funded!

With that said, I’m ready to start this incredible journey, but I will definitely miss my amazing family and friends!
