As I am sitting in the office in front of a whiteboard
full of notes, ideas, visions, and unanswered questions I soon get very
overwhelmed with everything that needs to be done in Kenya for the IDP in Camp
Vision. There is so much need, so
much hurt, so much to do… and then I become extremely humbled. Why did the
Lord choose me to be a part something so big?
“I chose you because this is not ok.
It’s not
ok that people are living on less than $1 per week. It’s not ok that children are only getting
food every other day. It’s not
ok that kids can’t go to school because they can’t pay $2
per month. It’s not
ok that they don’t have shoes to wear. It’s not ok that every time it rains all of
their belongs get wet because their tents are made out of trash. It’s not ok that they don’t have clean
water to drink. It’s not
ok that 50 families have to share one latrine. It’s not ok that they can’t get health care
because they have no way of getting there. It’s not ok that the government has completely forgotten them.
It’s not ok that
girls have to prostitute themselves to earn money for the family.
It’s not ok. It’s not ok. It’s not ok.
So yes, it might seem too big to handle, and yes, it might
get overwhelming, and yes we might not know what to do next…but something has to be done. This
is not ok. And all these things that seemed to be overwhelming suddenly become
small minute details, because the Lord is bigger than every problem listed
above, the Lord will provide exceedingly more than we could ask, and we are on the LORD’s SIDE. Who can
stand against us?
“That is why I chose you, says the Lord, “to do something
for my children.
The people of Kenya are crying out and the Lord heard
their cry and is sending help. You are a part of this help. If you feel
like the Lord is calling you to be a part of this vision of bringing
self-sustainability to the IDP click the “support me tab to the left.
Remember…it
is not ok that this is happening in the world. The Lord’s heart is breaking for
His children, and He is calling US to do something about it. Are you willing?
