The story behind this picture…
Each night the sun would set over the Rift Valley creating
the most stunning views I have ever seen in my life. One night, as I looked out,
the rays of the sun were pointing directly to the camps of the Internally
Displaced People. If you look closely, those little white dots below the rays
are the tiny tents made out of trash that these people live in each night.
It was like the Lord was saying that He hasn’t forgotten
them. “My light is shinning on them.� I have never seen anything so powerful in
all my life. The light of God was shinning on them and illuminated them. He was
putting a spotlight on them, people who have been completely forgotten in the
eyes of the world.
When I look at that picture, I KNOW that something has to
be done. The Lord is pointing them out by His own creation and is saying “THEM,
I want you to help THEM.�
So we hear the call and we GO, right? I guess sometimes we
don’t think it’s that easy. What if we didn’t really hear from the Lord? What
if other things get in the way? What if I fail? What if, what if, what if… No
more excuses. God’s people are hurting. It is time to do something about it!
So how does the picture to the right relate to the picture
to the left? They go hand-in-hand. The picture to the right is a team of 5 that
the Lord has called to help the picture to the left. And without YOU the
picture to the right would not exist to bring freedom to the picture to the
left. You see how is all works together? 1.God chooses, 2.we obey, 3.people
know freedom. It’s that simple.
